The singing voice of Macross Frontier’s Sheryl Nome. Her single sold very well too, the power of Macross, heh. But her voice is surprisingly quite deep, and I like the songs better than Sakamoto Maaya’s Triangler. :-/

I just knew that this concert was attended by 16,000 people; which made it her biggest live to date (2007’s Live Museum had 12,000 people). Nice~ I should attend one of her concerts later..

A lot of fire! Woot, budgets. This is my favorite Nanoha OP; Funny note that this song was used as military promo for Japan Air Self Defense Force. Watch and be amused.

The most energetic song of the night~ Everyone was jumping and shouting along with her. Nana said in the commentary that she almost got carried away..

19 Orchestral Fantasia
Featuring Nana Strings! You can tell she really got carried away this time. Her dramatic & powerful performance still gives me the chills no matter how many times I’ve seen this.. Heart-shaped chant was flawless, but *this* completely blown me away.

FINALLY I got my DVD last Friday. I swear I will NEVER use airmail again for any Nana-related things. I saved a few bucks but was mentally damaged for the whole week.

Anyway, the DVD totally worth the wait (no wonder it topped the Oricon chart). I’ve lost count how many times I’ve re-watched it (I skipped sleeping this weekend~ xD). I wonder why my housemates haven’t kicked me out of the house for looping this through the night.. ^^;

And I really liked the audio commentary. Although my Japanese is on par with Hirano Aya’s English (read: terrible), I grasped few interesting things.. I’ll add some of them in the review.

– OPENING
Surprise! Nana-chan spoke English O_o; it was cute though. And guess who was the guy who did the narration? It’s Kevin J. England, the voice of Bardiche, lol~
Hm, not sure how many people were there, but it surely broke her Live Museum record (of 12k, IIRC). Stage settings looked good, wonder how they will set it for Animelo 2008~

The first time I heard the song in Great Activity, I knew it would be perfect to open a concert~ and so it did.

After the energetic welcoming, she said she went pass Mt Fuji and prayed for the concert’s success (she looked rly cute. I’m not giving screencaps xD). Then she introduced a new Cherry Boys member, bass & percussion: Fukunaga Masao (Cho-san).

Somehow reminds me of NAKED FEELS in Live Universe, the way she sits in the stairs looking cute xD I was quite amazed how she copied the movements from her clip (shown on the big screen).

Definitely the cutest performance in this live~ the song was one of my fave from Magic Attraction. Look at the neko-mimi hat, so cute. Also loved how she danced…

Woot, Livedom Birth opening in better costume :p She ran and jumped a lot (Nana complained in the commentary that it was really hot in that costume, lol)

I was really surprised all members did a dance sequence. o_O; In order of dance appearance:
(1) Yutapon (Watanabe Yutaka, drums), (2) Cho-san, (3) Kenny (Kitajima Kenji, guitar), (4) Tom-kun (Oohira Tsutomu, keyboard –Nana said in the commentary that he was really cute, I couldn’t agree more, lol), and (5) Itaruvic (Watanabe Itaru, guitar). (6) Ryutan (Sakamoto Ryuta, bass) didn’t dance like usual, heh.

Yay, ear-mic = dancing sessions! Nana-chan said she looked like a ‘tetsujin’ (metal-man) from game/anime, maybe the silver costume and robotic movements? ^^; She also mentioned that the dance sequences were pretty hard.

Done in the central stage. Way hotter than the previous skit (I’m not sharing the screencaps! xD) Suddenly I like this song.

Beautiful dress. She looked like a goddess (she is!). The audience changed the light sticks to a mix of orange/blue, nice.

11 ラストシーン Last Scene (acoustic)
Finally, the acoustic session! Nana-chan really showed what she’s capable of as a singer. It’s a very emotional song about break up, even her beloved Noto Mamiko cried when she first heard the song. I know I did.

She looked like she was about to cry too.

12 Crystal Letter (acoustic)
Simply beautiful, no wonder it was ranked #4 in her top 100 songs (Summer Festa). And Nana-chan playing harmonica? What a treat!

Nana-chan popped out from the other side of the stage, bringing a sudden change from the mellow acoustic to high-spirited songs. Although she said she liked the costume (and she looked great), I think only Nana can wear it without looking like an idiot.. =_=;

Finally, my favorite Nana live-song ^_^ Everyone in the hall was singing along, like usual. Actually, me too, er, a bit. (Heck, even Nana did that in the commentary~ xD)

Waa~ai, the first (and my favorite) Nana self-composed song. She looked like she had real fun, running/jumping here and there (..and to think this was the 15th song.. what kind of stamina was that?)

Few minutes of Cherry Boys goodness. They’d be one of my favorite band if they had picked better name, lol. Again, numbered: (1) Itaru (and Mika-chan!) First, Marimite DVD trailer was posted today.
LOL at “Lady Sachiko Ogasawara”, but no worries, they’re doing us fans a big favor by releasing TWO subtitles for Marimite, the other one retains the original honorifics~ xD

Looking at the trailer brings back memories.. Marimite was one of the first anime I really liked and also responsible in making me a seiyuu fan (still tops my list as the best ensemble cast ever).

Coming next in September is ARIA, one of the best anime of all time. I should refrain from praising/talking about the series here otherwise I’ll start babbling a seriously long crap, lol.

Actually, they will release Emma: A Victorian Romance first in June. I haven’t seen the anime, but I recall liking the manga long time ago, maybe it’s time to watch it.

And so, I’ve pre-ordered all of them~ my very first R1 DVDs. Have to worry about the player later -I only got one drive each for R2 (Jap) and R4 (Aus). They’re at an unbelievably cheap bargain at US$37.49/boxset (pre-order price, heck, I’d pay triple and it’s still way cheaper than R2 releases).

For Marimite, you get the whole first season that comes without dub (!), 7 specials (those cute Naisho chibis~), and character bios + liner notes (must be the soeur system explanation). Wondering if they gonna release the 3 fan-discs too..

I’m actually pretty surprised RightStuf/Nozomi picked up those anime.. they seem to pay more attention for the niche market. Madman will NEVER release them here; the chance is as big as Narucrap goes slice-of-life.

On the other note, I shouldn’t get my hopes up high, but I’m seriously praying they will also pick up Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. But maybe not, since those Amerikans must be afraid seeing the little girls’ transformation scenes, lol~ xD

Yay for Moe-moe-i, the real talent. She should do a God Knows duet with Aya and if those fanboys still choose her over Momoi, they must be deaf, lol.

Notes:
I just realized this few days ago, but Makkun is not listed separately from Jam Project in the official site, unlike in the previous events‘ sites. I’d kill them if that means no Makkun’s solo.. AND WHY, why Nana-chan and Makkun will be performing on different days? Rinbu Revolution duet was the smexiest thing ever, and I heard Transmigration duet on 2005 was mind-blowing too.. so tell me, why?

The theme song CD is set to be released on July 23rd. They have the habit of putting more beats into the song each year (from slow ballad Oneness to slightly upbeat Outride to fast-paced Generation-A) so we might be expecting something fun as well. Makkun should be the one behind this year’s theme too~ so no worries. Yay.

As for the DVD later; I’m afraid they will combine 2006 and 2007 nightmares together; as in 2x 8900yen. I don’t mind starving for another few days, but they should get it right this time. Previous years’ video quality was devastating. I mean, with that price I should expect at least something as good as Yukarin’s DVD (which reminds me, where is her Budokan live DVD?)

Fwah. I’m still so excited even after a month since I knew about this year’s Animelo. Hopefully I can get a ticket with a nice seat. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to rewatch previous years’ DVD..
