She’s been through a lot to deserve the respect of acknowledging her hardwork through the years, so no 17-yo jokes please (at least not in this blog lol).

Well I’m not doing anything special this year, just celebrating Nana’s birthday with everyone else in Twitter (it’s funny how everyone gets more excited about Nana’s birthday more than their own xD) … then watched the 1-hour NHK Music Japan special documentary, covering many aspects of a “Nana Live” behind the scene (mostly Castle footage).

Right after that, Summer Tour schedule is out (14 lives from end of June to early September..) and I’m spending the day planning for it while watching Livedom Birth that happened exactly 6 years ago on her birthday.

Thank you for being born and for giving meaning in my life.

Last year was only 6 months, so it’s normal to double up? ^^; Averagely 6 lives a month… It’s more focused compared to last year though. Stopped going to random events.

-Number of times stalking Nana…34 (+25 from last year)
Very satisfying year for a Nanatard. I fulfilled my dream to complete a tour (happens to be her longest..). It was a really busy year for Nana with 18 solo lives + many other appearances. Couldn’t go to some events, but still managed to attend lots of it, so no regrets. =D
And I saw Nana 7 times in July.. yay 777 xD;

-Number of times stalking 48 clan… 17. (newcomer lol)
Live screening in cinema is listed but not counted since I didn’t see them in person. ^^;
…aaand a bit more than I thought ^^;; Money-wise they don’t cost that much tho.. 4x handshake events (CD purchase), 4x Music Japan (mostly free), events.. Only 5x full lives.

-Number of times seeing Minorin… 9 (+4 from last year).
-Number of times seeing Yukarin… 4 (= last year).
-Number of times seeing Faylan… 7 (-3 from last year).
One can’t love so many people at once.. so yeah gotta admit I kinda lost interest in exchange of 48 girls ^^; I don’t watch many anime too so yeah..

-Most visited hall.. Tokyo Dome City Hall (5 times).
-Number of times I spent the night in a bus… 15.
-Number of times I promised I’ll write a report… ∞. m(_ _m)

-Best Nana live… Live Grace Day 1.
-Best live without Nana… AKB48 Team K “AKB ga Ippai”.
-Regret of 2011… not watching AKB Kohaku live.

2012 expectations (NOT New Year Resolution lol)
-At least post something about the event… even just a setlist or short impression.
-Watch moar Takarazuka. I was really blown away by their performance.

Like the past few birthdays I spent it watching a Nana live BD/DVD, and this year it’s even way more special since it’s officially out today too!!

The song I picked was Daisuki na Kimi e. I LOVE the rearrangement for GRACE, and Nana smiled a lot while singing… perfect! φ(*´∇)ﾉ[☆

Uhh okay. I first went to Japan 3 years ago (I was 19) with Japanese ability of asking where the toilet is… No I didn’t understand the answer but body language is good. xD Granted I went with 2 friends, but 4 months later I went by myself for Live Fever. You can do it too! :3

Flight.
If you could land in Haneda Airport, do it. It’s much closer to central Tokyo compared to Narita (which is actually in Chiba not Tokyo), though the new Narita express train is fast (and costly..).

From Haneda to inner city, Keikyu Airport Express costs 400 yen (~20 mins) to Shinagawa station.
From Narita to inner city, read about Suica N’ex here or Hei-chan’s explanation.
*If you have time to burn, Narita to Nippori station using Keisei Local Line is the cheapest (1000 yen) but takes almost 2 hours.

Hotel.
Largely depends on your budget.
I always stayed in Hotel New Koyo in northern Tokyo. It’s the cheapest place possible (2,300 yen!), decent location (20 mins from Tokyo Dome, 10 mins from Akihabara), and very kind owners who speak perfect English. The room is as small as human lockers but it’s enough (almost everywhere are like that..). Limited rooms so inquire early.

I also heard that Sakura Hotel is decent though it costs 3 nights in New Koyo.. But i’s 15 mins walk to Tokyo Dome (if you don’t get lost). And cheaper dorm rate if you’re going in groups.

Actually, lots of nice hotels around Tokyo Dome since it’s a famous place for tourists.. with dreadful prices (12,000~infinity yen/night).

Getting around.
Tokyo’s public transport reaches every corner of Tokyo, but that means very complicated map that looks like a colorful spaghetti.. but it’s not a problem with Hyperdia, exact timetable and route search (with price list) for all Japan. Train announcement is in Japanese AND English for every stop. Station names are also written in English.

Tokyo Dome is located near Suidobashi Station.
There will be 50,000 people on the day, so consider using Kōrakuen Station or Kasuga Station (both within walking distance). Depending on the circumstances later, most likely I will ask everyone to meet up in Korakuen Station (or other station if that’s also extremely crowded).

Important FAQ

Q. “What should I prepare?”
Normally, PET bottle (plastic bottled drink sold in convenience store / vending machine) is prohibited inside Tokyo Dome. It’s originally a baseball stadium where they expect people to buy food/drink from their sellers during the match (imagine basketball/soccer match).

But for Nana’s concert, you will die without at least 1 liter of water/sports drink. They could revoke this rule for Nana’s concert but just to be safe, prepare a drink container.

Also bring a towel (not just for towel songs but you seriously need it) and penlights (voted #1 as the most important stuff to bring.. yes not tickets xD).

Q. What about mobile phone?
Inquire your country’s mobile provider, since it could be cheaper to rent. Would be best if you could use internet too since in Japan I mainly communicate via mobile email. If you’re not confident you can find the meeting place (I will make it as easy as possible) or want to contact me via phone call, please rent a Japanese mobile phone. I don’t want to pay roaming. Plenty of those services in airport for a cheap price, 100 yen/day if you have 3G phone, or 200 yen/day with the phone (excluding call rates).

Q. “When should I start queuing for goods?”
Official management bans overnight queuing since Live Journey, and since Tokyo Dome is located in central Tokyo it’s 100% prohibited. There could be a pre-sale on Friday which I highly recommend if you can arrive 1 day earlier. But anyway it would be chaotic. Ideally you could loiter around before the first train, or just come with the first train. Remember that 1 train late means hundreds of people in front of you..

Q. “Where can I buy penlights?” / “I don’t know how to cheer”
Watch more live BD/DVD. Pay attention to the cheers or penlight movements though I think it will come naturally when you hear it.

Blue penlights are sold officially, and if this 2-days live is another Red/Blue set, there would be official red penlights too. Many songs require Ultra Orange lights (Eternal Blaze, Power Gate, etc), and some songs must be white lights (Shin’ai, Crystal Letter), and pink for Discotheque. You could buy them in otaku shops in Akihabara, or any Don Quijote.

If it’s too troublesome just stick with blue/no penlight. Lots of ways to enjoy a concert afterall.. but it would be nice to unite and cheer for Nana. And it’s really fun!

Some of you might have realized that my blog was blocked by browsers a few days ago. It was spoofed with some malware bots, most likely because I accessed the server from dodgy PCs lol, not like someone hates me or Nana that bad (hopefully).

Did a clean install and now it’s all good.

All contents are okay but I lost the theme (I suspect it was the one infected…). Well, I’ll use the chance to finally update the look of my blog (never really cared before) and post Live Journey Station 1 report … soon.
