Faylan Live Tour 01 Polaris in Nagoya & Tokyo

Very late report considering how much I REALLY enjoyed it.
As some of you who follow my twitter might know, I totally fell in love with Faylan lol. Ever since her first live in summer, she regularly appears in many events so I just couldn’t help it! >_<

Polaris was Faylan’s first live tour! 27 Oct @Osaka, 28 Oct @Nagoya, and final 4 Dec @Tokyo. I couldn’t make it to Osaka but I took overnight bus to Nagoya~! And of course the final live in Tokyo! Despite being right after Nana’s Zachou Kouen 2 lol. I missed the first song in Tokyo ;_; oh well.

Setlist was almost identical: only swapping some songs order, 1 song changed, and Tokyo had 1 extra song. Well she only has 1 album and several anime/game insert songs. I include both setlist for comparison.. and really sorry for this incoherent writing, lol.

Costumes.

1st and 3rd costumes. Kakko-kawaii~!! Or ero-kawaii? xD I literally choked when she reappeared with the police hat lol. Too bad she only wore the cap for one song… ;__;

Highlights
-”Are you ready?” Title song of the album, Polaris opened the live with it’s a bright, cheerful feel instead of Faylan’s standard “hardcore” stuff.
-Honnou no DOUBT was too dangerous for my weak heart (and nose). Never had enough of that seducing stick-swinging, whip-lashing act~!!
-scat blue has very nice beat and feel I could just listen to it the entire day! My favorite ballad from Feinyan. Started ballad section (#8~11).
-Last vision for last. Yakusoku shita hazu!～HEY!!─(*゜∀゜*)─Best HEY shout ever.
-Never Slash!!, some dodgy-game song before her debut CD still stays a fan-favorite. Loved the loud shouts: Come on! and Right enough!, then Hold on! and Light on!.. she re-taught us in her blog.
-Fans headbanging for most intense songs, especially fortitude. Headbanging! In an anison live! xD
-How mind as Judgment still sounded as great as the first time I heard it in Canaan, the first live in Anisama last year.. yet a thousand loops after I’m still digging it!!
-I think I’ve heard spring～Kimi to no Melody～ live at least 5 times in the past 2 months. Everyone loved her honest, sweet “Arigatooou” <33 shout at the end.

Double Encore. Tokyo only.
After Encore, Faylan quickly waved goodbye and ran backstage, and the light was still dimmed, so obviously everyone shouted for more (もう１回！もう１回！) and she came back! Pretty long MC starting from the meaning of Polaris, a light of hope that shines brighter as we work harder to pursue it. It represents her hardwork for years (she doesn’t reveal her age but I guess she’s late 20s), and how grateful she is for not giving up on singing.. Final song’s lyrics were written by Faylan while thinking about her fans. ありがとう～to dear you～ (Arigatou) was so beautiful I’m sure everyone understood how thankful Faylan is to us.. proven by ありがとう shouts back to Faylan after the song ends. Great end.

Band members

Stayed the same, mainly from Lantis. L-to-R: Guitarist Maakun, keyboardist Fujita Junpei (Elements Garden), bassist Hiropon, and drummer Gan-chan. Like Faylan, they all smile a lot (Junpei is so cute!), but darn fierce while performing! Loooved their instrumental version of Polaris!

Notes.
-9 new songs performed within 5 months (after 1st live)! Feinyan is working hard. ^^;
-The only song changes was track #7. Nagoya had Antiphona from game Agarest Senki. Instantly like-able, I bought the mini-album after. Tokyo had Boureitachi yo Yabou no Hate ni Nemure, special ED for Katanagatari 11.. great song except that its CD comes with the animu BD T__T. In Osaka she did Milky Holmes game ED INFINITE CRISIS, which was performed as extra song in Tokyo, so I got to hear everything live, yay!

-Nagoya had better MC than Tokyo. She acted more freely with plenty of jokes (even responding to the “ero~i” shouts lol), compared to Tokyo where she was obviously nervous. She even forgot to call Girls Area. Her nervousness didn’t show while performing, but yes in MC. Understandable with SO many big people / friends were watching in 2F and it’s recorded for her 1st Live DVD release.

Introducing Polaris! Handmade cat doll by Faylan!! She even voiced the doll with a very cute voice, ending every sentence with “pora~” lolol she should take up seiyuu lessons. xD Faylan said she’s planning to give this away to an extremely lucky fan, but still deciding how to lottery it away. A one-and-only plushie with Faylan’s sweat (lol) all over it? WANT.

Live Impressions.
-I was completely immersed! Faylan’s greatest appeal is obviously her presence on stage. Powerful singing is given, but she totally OWNS the stage, especially with her mad freestyle dancing skillz!! After live, I heard many people saying they didn’t expect it would be THIS awesome and glad they attended. I believe Faylan will get bigger sooner or later!

-They totally overloaded Shibuya O-East; people everywhere until every corner possible. Couldn’t even jump without banging someone else on the way! Female area was too full once I reached there, and there were still lots of girls spreading around. Quite surprised how well-dressed most Faylan’s fangirls are. ^^;

-Special treat for me was Fei-mama!! I went to 2F to pick-up drinks and a really pretty middle-aged lady walked past me. With that striking resemblance (face shape, eyes, lips) almost everyone in 2F turned heads ^^;; can’t be wrong!! She commented on Fay’s blog (under フェイママです Fei-mama desu LOL) so it’s true. xD

Nagoya-only Impressions.
My first time being in center of first row in a standing concert! Granted I was blessed with an extremely good view of whatever’s going on, but during the last rush of hot songs.. worse than a crowded last train in Tokyo! It was really intense with sweaty guys kept pushing.. >_< but I still forced myself to jump! On my bus back to Tokyo I realized I had huge bruises on my knees and hipbones from banging the front fence (I’m serious), but other than the tough times it almost felt like a personal concert of just Faylan and me!

Also, after the final song Faylan quickly touched our hands while running and being in front I also got it……..I TOUCH THE FAYLAN━（*´Д｀*）━!! (in case you don’t get it) Totally worth any bruise anytime!!

In Tokyo she announced this will get a DVD (no bluray) release next spring!! Congratulations! The world needs to know Faylan!!
