Faylan -THE LIVE 01- report. Super hot.

Yes I need to put that on the title and I’ll say it again: FAYLAN IS UBER HOT!!

And yes lol eventhough I’m super busy with moving countries and stuff, I still had time to attend this. xD

I hope everyone here knows Faylan, well you would if you know Canaan or watched Animelo 2009. Also live promo video featuring her Lantis Matsuri performance. God where’s that thing’s BD btw.

Faylan -THE LIVE 01- on Monday, 28 June 2010. Very messy report but yah enjoy.

I wanted to come early for goods (starts at 4pm) but I had plenty of crap to do, so I arrived an hour late. Shibuya O-WEST is about 10 mins walk from Shibuya station, pretty easy to find.

I noticed that Shibuya O-EAST opposite the road had a concert too.. Some visual-kei band called Fatima (I was like, which Malay singer? xD). Resulting in a rare view of a small lane full of 2 opposite types of people: sweaty guys wearing glasses, Faylan/Animelo T-shirt and towel… then you see pink-haired, fashion-crazed, chain-smoking girls.. I shoulda taken pics.

Setlist.
Faylan’s base color is definitely RED! But blue and white were used quite often too. There’s one song with yellow but can’t remember which.. and there’s pink for the spring song.

1. Dark Side of the Light
Gets everyone pumped and DAMN HOT from the start. I love this song.

2. I sing by my soul
She almost tripped a cable while singing, I think it’s this song or the next. A nervous start? But that was cuuuute.

Ballad set starts here.. phew time to rest. She’s unbelievably good in slow songs too.. very captivating *_*

10. 月華の螺旋 (Gekka no Rasen)
Faylan’s debut song with major label (HobiRecords) for PC game Touka Gettan’s ED in 2007.

11. 鎮魂の旅へ (Chinkon no Tabi e)

These 2 Ga-rei songs were simply too beautiful for words. Both are my favorites of the night..

13. 希望の空 (Kibou no Sora)

I never saw Faylan smiles this much in one song ^^; Loved the nice feeling of the song.. everyone clapped hands while holding blue lights.

15. Reconquista
Not a surprise but still very nice. This is the song that made me love Faylan back then.. and now even more!

16. 戦場に咲いた一輪の花 (Senjou ni Sakiita Ichirin no Hana)
New single, to be released July 21. The official preview has been out for a while, she even performed it earlier this month. Love the acapella intro.. can’t wait for the CD!

This song is SUPER FAST omg I’m surely building muscle on one arm or sth.

Finally the song everyone was waiting for! Time to unleash the energy we’ve saved for this since the start. xD Everyone jumped like crazy with fresh UO! Loved the countdown too. I do think it’s her best performance.

I felt stupid when many people took out pink lights… lol when did they decide this?!

First verse was the usual Japlish we’ve heard… then she started singing in Japanese! Also broke into tears for a few seconds… definitely the most emotional song and a very good closure.

MC.

- MC1. She’s a lot more cheerful in MCs, despite looking fierce/cool while singing. During the first MC she expressed how happy she is to have this concert.. that she just couldn’t wait to see us ^^

- MC2. Band members introduction… apparently this is the same people as Minorin’s 2007 live since they’re both Lantis. I recognized Gan-chan the drummer (left most) who’s still playing for Minorin until now! The keyboardist was Element Garden’s Fujita Junpei (2nd from right) because as Faylan said: EG songs are difficult. xD

- MC3 was after the ballad set, she changed to a colorful one-piece.. and told us that was handmade by her grandma! 2 years ago she almost gave up singing, though she knew she’d be lifeless without it. Granny were very supportive of her singing, but also said, it’s OK if she wants to give up, she will always stay by her side anyway… I swear the guy next to me wiped some tears.

And btw granny was there on VIP seats! Of course she deserved an extra loud “obaa-chan arigatou” cheers from us, lololol.

- There’s one fangirl kept shouting “FEINYAN~!” and at one point “AISHITERU!!” ^^;;; who is not me btw lmao. xD Faylan then asked the girls to make some noise.. there were quite a number of us, tho not more than 10%.

- The final MC was long. Faylan thanked a lot of people specifically. Obviously started with family, then..

Sato Hiromi (agency boss), of course. Big boss who cheers her up when she’s down, making funny faces to make her laugh. And this is direct quote, “I can’t ask for a better shachou~ ♥♥”. SO MUCH LOVE ;A; Well, as expected from someone who does this anyway.

Agematsu Noriyasu (EG boss / composer). Very influential for her career, composing plenty of epic songs and even the one who invented the stage name “Faylan”..

Saito Shigeru (Lantis producer), who is “like a father” for helping her a lot during recording and all. Poor Saito-san, only 30s and already has a 20s daughter lol.

Fans. She couldn’t believe just 2 years ago she almost gave up, and now she’s standing there, on stage, with 500-ish people looking at her. She described it as a “miracle“… before breaking into tears. Smooth.

Goods.

lol yes Shibuya O-WEST is located on top of a kombini, so the goods booth was set up outside it.

Only needed to spend 3K on the CD section. I got most of her CDs, so as you can see I randomly picked Sora o Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai (phew so long) Inspired album that cost exactly 3K and only has 1 Faylan song (fortitude), but it’s a pretty solid album with Ceui and eufonius too.

Standard muffler towel. Not bad, tho colors and butterfly lol gay. Got this instead of the black T-shirt, which looked nice with huge-ass gold 飛 (front) and 蘭 (back)… still can’t believe I could resist that. xD

Penlight set: white, red, and blue. Not reusable, but was very VERY useful during its lifetime.

Misc.
Guess who gave Faylan some nice, huge flowers!

Minorin!! Well she was there, tho I didn’t see her. And hey look Minorin was totally smitten by Faylan (describing her as “cool, beautiful, and cute” sounds like smitten to me), see that proves my point! xD

Notes.

- That was a REALLY satisfying 2.5 hours. She did an amazing job for a first live, nailing all songs be it up tempo or ballads.. and SHE CAN DANCE! Freestyle while singing, super hot. Yes I said it again! xD

- Her fans were something else too. I was expecting something like May’n first concert last year (= mostly quiet except few famous songs *yawns*), but Faylan’s fans were super energetic and supportive the whole time!

- MCs were better than expected too, she was kinda stiff and nervous in the first few MCs, but gradually opened up and had real interactions with fans.. afterall it was a small hall, so I better enjoy this before she becomes untouchable like Minorin/Nana lol.

Announcements.

1. This concert will be featured as the bonus DVD for her first album (limited ed. only), out September 8.

2. Live Tour for the album! Places not yet specified, but I’m DEFINITELY going to attend one!! Especially after reading Faylan’s latest blog post that sounds more like a love letter. ^_^
