IMPACT EXCITER DVD review: Mizuki Academy

I was really disappointed the DVD doesn’t contain the latest Fan Club Event, especially since she performed the new Top 10 songs. And THAT FATE COSPLAY arghh.

But after watching this, I’m loving every second of it. The school idea is interesting and creative, I can see they’ve put real efforts for this, maybe more worried about the DVD than the album flow lol but yeah, great job!

Since it’s my blog, Mizuki Academy review is basically Nana Stalking Lessons with danie sensei!! I’m serious. xD Let’s start ♪♪

Total compilation time: 77 minutes. Ho-hum another lucky seven.

Lesson 1: English

March 1

Soooo, Nana visited a “Manor House” in the suburbs of London for ULTIMATE DIAMOND jacket photo shoots.

..which is Dorney Court in Berkshire, South East of England.

There you go.

Good news is that it’s subtitled! Two audio tracks: Japanese by Nana and English by Michael Rhys who claims to have clear, natural, and warm British voice. I only listened for a few seconds, sorry Mr Rhys, it’s not you it’s me. xD

I wonder if someone ripped that page already haha.

March 2.

March 4

You know you’re back in Japan from those cameraphobic people in the background lol. Nana slept through the 12 hours flight. Not everyone can sleep soundly in an airplane, glad she does. Lol actually me too, which is good for my overnight flight to Japan.

Lesson 1 Notes.

Noticed how many times Nana said it was really cold there? That’s one of the reasons to buy the CD, srsly. Nana worked hard in the freezing weather, I don’t know about you but I can’t bear looking at that and still enjoy downloaded songs in my warm room. That sounds a bit inhumane. xD

Anyway, anyone living in England? GO STALK NOW!! If I ever have money for my Europe backpacking dream, I’ll make sure I find all those. You’ve got at least 5 places to go!

Lesson 2: Physical Education

Time to practice! Back in Niihama again after the concert in February! It was Nana’s deceased father’s birthday, so she prayed before. She seems very happy and nervous at the same time. Gambatte! q(^^)p

Lesson 4: Science.

Maybe to match IMPACT EXCITER’s theme, we’re in Outer Space section now. First, LE-7A Engine rocket engine.

I wonder if she sees this video and think, “Damn I looked perverted.”

Out of all things to worry about, Nana’s glad that she still can eat curry in outer space. Moreover, 3 different curry!

Inside the actual-size model of Shinkai 6500, the world’s deepest manned research submersible. Yes I copy pasted that from the website. xD

Where food goes, so Nana said maybe hers is bigger…  lol. I always hated biology but if Nana taught me I might have done better.

“Uuuu my life is complete~~” was what  Polo (therapy animal robot) was thinking.

Dome Theatre GAIA will play Young Alive! which settles it, after the 17th that Miraikan will be full of Nana fans. ^^;

Lesson 5: Home Economics.

Let’s start with picking the ingredients.

Onion, carrot, taro, okra, lotus root, young corn, apple (LOL WHAT), “why is tomato there I’m not taking it”, beef and pork meat, quail eggs, maitake mushroom. I hate veggies so this meal is too healthy for me.

“Without quail eggs it’s not Nana curry!!” I agree.

1. Cut onion, carrot, and apple. From the video, big cuts are fine too hahaha. But hey I can’t cook either. After that, put them into food processor.

2. Cut taro, lotus root, okra, and young corn. When Nana doesn’t have time, she eats okra natto (don’t ask me how that tastes like). That’s why she’s more pro in cutting okra!

3. Put onion first because it takes longer, keep stirring until the colors turns darker. After that, put meat, carrot, maitake mushroom, lotus root.. stir stir stir.

4. Put water.

5. Next up: taro, young corn, apple. Stir.

Nana was like, “lolol what the hell is this even curry” for obvious reasons.

6. Let it cook for 15 minutes. Meanwhile we can watch Nana’s live bluray or something.

7. After it’s boiling, put (a shitload of) curry powder. Sweet flavor and/or spicy flavor, up to you.

8. Last one: okra, and don’t forget the quail eggs!

Finished!! Now that looks like a delicious curry. In be4 Nana praising herself.

Itadakimasu! Honestly I cannot cook, but I will try this for sure. Hopefully I won’t get stomachache. xD

Lesson 6: Dance.

Koi no Yokushiryoku -type EXCITER- dance. I believe the dance is mirrored for us to practice.

Point 1: Koi no Yokushiryoku.

Koi ~ ♪ lean to the right, make a heart sign.

Yokushiryoku ~ ♪ put your left hands to the front with right hand holding the wrist, bend your knees a bit while swaying your hips!

Point 2: Listen to my heart

Listen to ~ ♪ Put right hand on right ear, then left hand on left hear.

my hea.. ~ ♪ Both hands together touching your left chest.

..rt! ~ ♪ Spread both hands to the front.

The resolution is bad, but I can confirm that’s Yumeko (to Nana’s left) and Mika (to Nana’s right) from Team Yoda. Can’t see the other two dancers. The dance is pretty hawt. :3

That’s T-shirt D from Live Academy. :3 I’ve got the part Nana taught us, since obviously it’s the official otagei for the concert. Tho I won’t be surprised if some hardcore fans already memorized the full routine. ^^;

Lesson 7: Japanese.

Harpist Agematsu Mika doesn’t need any introduction, right.

Nana thinks of Mika-chan like her sister (and secretly wants Mika to call her “Onee-san”) which is rather ironic since Nana’s real younger sister is also named Mika. ^^;

Lessons will be Nana explaining some keywords and lyrics, since she’s the writer. Crappy translation follows.

- Happens to be the album’s release date.
- When Nana first heard the song, she immediately thought of stars -> Tanabata -> love story of Orihime and Hikoboshi. It’s a song about thinking of someone special.
- That makes the song theme “star” and “love“.

Pretty much self-explananatory. Those things do exist…. to a lover, to family. The closer you are to someone, the harder it is to say certain stuff. Especially if you’re a tsundere, hahah.

Nana gets asked the million dollar question: What’s the things that you hide, Nana-chan? …. Unfortunately (and obviously!) Nana totally avoided the question. ^^;

- When you have problem, look up at the sky to feel better. Nana wants us to always be positive.

To express opposite emotions that happens at the same time. Something like point 2, but simpler.

Moving on to Shichigatsu Nanoka PV.

Tanabata stars make up the title.

At the beginning there are a lot of Nana alone, then there are Mika-chan and 5 other musicians (3 violinists and 2 cellists).

Geh, I was expecting something like Shin’ai PV, just the two of them… xD but they got the most shots anyway.

Notes.
The lyrics are meant to be simple and straight-forward. I love how it sounds like a love letter. I find myself liking this song more and more each time I heard it. Let’s hope I won’t cry in Live Games haha.
