Live Journey Station 3: Utsunomiya
Sendai 2-days were scheduled for this week but postponed until August 13-14 so next station would be in June! I thought I had plenty of time and kept postponing to write this. ^^; I wonder if anyone’s still interested in this.. ;__;
Utsunomiya city, Tochigi prefecture.
Notes.
-My mini-chomo went missing in action so this Journey features Nanette-san!
Edit. Thanks for the message but I found mini-chomo in my other bag few days after ^^;;
-No same-day tickets were sold (no excess space for standing).
-Granrodeo live was held in Utsunomiya on the same day~ lol the most famous female and male seiyuu singers on the same area. ^^;
-Nana took the first shinkansen back to Tokyo right after the live ended. Some people actually saw her in the station.. ;___; She changed clothes but still had the encore’s hairdo. I met up with few friends after the live.. otherwise I would have walked back to station right away and prolly see her… 悔しいです。orz
Limited phone wallpaper for Tochigi.
Almost got a heart attack when I saw this. Awesome shot m(_ _m)
I don’t feel like changing it even after I get the new one next week. xD
Journey in Tochigi
Originally planned to visit Oya Stone underground museum where Nana had Orchestral Fantasia PV shooting but it’s still closed due to earthquake danger etc. So I visited “Omocha no Machi” (lit. City of Toys) because of well, the name. ^^;
Turns out it’s a very silent, small town orz. But nice black train.. statue/display there. Too bad it’s not number 7 =(
(L) Bandai Museum with real-sized Gundam.. didn’t get in since it’s not free. ^^;
(R) Park nearby the hall. Full of Nanatards. xD
Curry Journey
2-color curry in Tomoshibi restaurant in Omocha no Machi. If I knew the other “color” had tomatoes I would’ve ordered normal curry orz.
Live
Utsunomiya Bunka Kaikan with a friend’s real-chomo lol.
Other reports: Station 1 Fukuoka (full setlist and costumes). Station 2 Kurashiki.
Red: first-time sung in Journey

-Ooohhh new dance song!!! ….lol after I spent some time memorizing full KoiYoku dance moves orz. Thankfully I still remember some Take a shot moves too. Now I have high hopes for Inside of Mind to get its turn in the next stations!!
-Back to Love Trippin’ and keeping Station 2′s Musterion.
-Uhh now I’m confident there’s no new acoustic songs orz. After reading STORIES’ lyrics I do understand why Nana insists on singing this in (all stations of) Journey.
-Pink penlights for DISCOTHEQUE increased. I agree it fits better than UO.
Towel lesson update. Seems they realized the previous stations confused people. The past 2 stations, Hisayo-sensei said “right” while waving to HER right = our left, so the correct moves were NOT mirrored, although majority insisted on mirroring for wutever reasons. But this time, Hisayo-sensei clearly told us to mirror the moves, saying “right” while waving to her left = our right. So it’s official.
MC1. Greetings and title call.
-Nana announced Tochigi as her 14th out of 47 prefectures of Japan. Still a long way but it counts! I hope I could be there when Nana performs on her 47th prefecture one day.
-“Live Journey, Station 3 Utsunomiya, departs!”
MC2. Mawatte~!
-Not patient enough to wait for conductor costume, “mawatte” calls started here (pink/black polkadot costume). Nana said “When I started my career I never thought I’d turn around this often.” xD
-Announced new single’s tie-up is Blood-C! (as most people have guessed lol) Banzai~!
First episode will air July 7 (double Nana lol) so we’ll get the song pretty early.
Lyrics by Nana, composed by 吉木絵里子 (Yoshiki Eriko), Phantom Minds team!!
MC3.
-Nana told us that Eternal Blaze PV was shot somewhere in Tochigi too (well I already knew that but not sure exactly where xD).
-”What to eat in Tochigi?” Obvious answer was gyoza! Nana said that gyoza is her #2 favorite food after curry.
-Many recommended “lemon milk” too. Nana didn’t know about that but said she will definitely buy it because “Milk can make me grow taller!” which was responded by funny bass sound by Ryutan LOL.
Starting Team Yoda’s dance session, Raising Heart’s V.A. Donna Burke‘s shinkansen-ish announcement in English:
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Live Journey. This is the Nana Super Express bound for Utsunomiya.”
It was “Fukuoka” (Station 1) and “Kurashiki” (Station 2).
Encore costume back to Polo shirt + the same green short pants (a la Station 1)
Power Gate route.

Now I really couldn’t see Nana at all lol. The front block is rather small (only 10 rows) so she went to left and right side too… wished she had done it in Okayama too D=
Omake.

Bait: 7 gyoza-shaped keyring (all white). Nana named it “gyoza-kun” since there’s no official name written there. Too bad the souvenir shops were already closed so no time to get one.
Maybe next time.
BUT!!

I bought Lemon Milk and Tochigi’s gyoza!
Nana posted about it too a few days after. I wonder what the Utsunomiya station’s mini-market staff thought when suddenly there are hordes of people queuing to get lemon milk.. ^^; No idea how they made it, but while it smells a bit like lemon, it does NOT taste like one.. ^^; just a bit sweeter than normal milk.

I’m intresteeeeed!!! ^_^
Now I want some lemon milk as well. Haven’t tried it yet (probably there isn’t any in my country) but maybe someday and somewhere I will.
Yes for Take a shot. My most favorite Nanoha IN ever!!
Thanks for the review!
Next to Ishikawa go~
(off topic: can I hope for Minori live tour review?)
Lemon milk? Never thought that would be possible. Maybe I’ll try some given the chance. That’s a lovely phone wallpaper too…wish I could use it… XD
Thansk for the update … of course as always I am eager to read every blogpost. Hopefully you will get the chance to see Nana next to you.
Keep up the good job, Danie~
just keep writing..I’m interested in your blog.=D
btw my deep condolences to your mini chomo danie..
I can’t wait for a PHANTOM MINDS-like song.
I keep reading stations after stations.
Thank you danie !
So August is confirmed for go? HURRAY MAYBE I DON’T HAVE TO GO IN JULY.
Lemon milk…sounds weird. Then again Japanese are the best at making weird flavor combinations, so I won’t think too hard about it.
Sorry to hear about you missing Nana at the station. Cursed friends, who needs them. Almost like a VN decision, hanging out with friends or getting a flag with the main heroine. D:
Thanks as always. :3
There’s no need to worry about whether or not anyone’s still interested, Danie… anything pertaining to Mizuki Nana never loses its mystique.
R.I.P. to your chomo.
Hard to believe that Granrodeo was ALSO in Utsunomiya… two of the greats blessing the same prefecture. That’s unreal. *_*
I can only imagine how you would have felt if you got to see Nana in the station… it probably would have been mentally orgasmic.
The Nana phone wallpaper… OH MY GOD IS SHE STILL SEXY.
All of these kids who think she’s too old to serve up a saucer of stimulation and sensuality know where they can stick it.
Sorry the city of toys wasn’t as loud as you probably would have liked it to be… glad to see it was an enjoyable experience anyways, though.
I almost shit myself at the Bandai Museum… full-size Gundam is definitely the quintessential otaku fantasy (I honestly can’t classify myself as one, though). And I’m not surprised that there were many Nanatards in that park, either.
I was never big on curry… but I guess it’s like a fine wine. Initially it’s difficult to appreciate, but eventually becomes heavily desirable.
It definitely says something to you being a true Nana fan that you take time to memorize dance moves involved in some of her songs… I couldn’t imagine myself doing that, since I don’t really dance too much.
Nana doesn’t need to grow any taller… her 5’0″ frame is enough of a turn-on to me as it stands. And don’t people usually stop growing at a certain age? I think Nana’s already past the mark… hopefully she’s not. Imagine if she were Shaquille O’Neal’s height… o.o
Sorry about the lemon milk not living up in flavor to its name… I guess there was a purpose behind that, though. Milk dairy + lemon acid = a lethal combination. Almost like combining boric and hydrochloric acid. :-{
I’m surprised that Nana didn’t shout out and put a good word in for Chihara Minori… after all, Utsunomiya is Minori’s hometown. -_- Oh, well. Maybe she lives by Rakim’s “it ain’t where you’re from, it’s where you’re at” mentality. I wouldn’t be surprised, since Nana and Rakim are both Aquarians… ~:-) Then again, I’m pretty sure Nana has never listened to any of his music (with all due respect, she’s really missing out if this is the case).
Thank you for your report… I’m definitely looking forward to the Ishikawa one (Noto Mamiko’s prefecture of birth… hopefully Nana will acknowledge Noto during the show).
Thanks for expressing your interest! I’ll try to write earlier next week. =3
@Namirin:
KFD report? Yes you can! (I think) It’s kinda super outdated.. xD And a friend is in Japan for the week so let’s see. ^^;
@Lemon milk:
It’s something like Japanese’s famous melonpan that doesn’t have melon taste at all. ^^;;; just way of naming but tastes sweeter than normal.
@Mini-chomo:
Chomo said she’s happy!
Ah, she was missing only for that day. Found it on my other bag few days after. Thanks for worrying though
@perceefinesse:
Nana and Minorin aren’t such good friends (separate agency/record company) so I doubt Nana knew about it. There’s a chance for Mamiko if they talked about it during their dates besides busy rabu-rabuing. xD
…and uhh reading your “ero” comments in serious tone feels awkward lol. ^^;
I wonder if she got many stares at the train station….
Cos If I was there I would be like this:
*Staring with weird eyes* Is that Nana…..? *Continues staring* OMG IS THAT NANA????? *Stares some more* HOLY SHIT IT’S NANA!!!! *Still staring*
Just asking, what would you do if you actually saw her? =P
I’ll do nothing. Just stare at her as long as I could, but not even following her. xD Other than that it’s causing trouble for her and team. ^^;
Oooo, lemon milk, I heard that it doesn’t actually contain any lemon at all (or was it no milk? LOL) Interesting to see a dance song getting changed, didn’t expect that. Keep on posting your journey reports! Though I’m TRYING to make this the last one I read before Ehime (which feels so far awaaaayyy) so don’t spoil myself on further setlist changes – will prolly fail hah.
Definitely no lemon ^^;; it tastes like a sweetened milk.
Only.. 3 lives / 25 days to Ehime! xD
Oh… so THAT explains why Nana probably doesn’t know that Minori was born in Utsunomiya. Since Nana and Minorin have worked together before, I’d think that they’d both have some knowledge about each other… I honestly find it weird that being signed to different agencies/record companies creates what seems to be an understanding gap. Of course the “geek” mentality is not prevalent in the seiyuu industry… it’s not like they’re all trying to learn everything they can about each other. They savor independence.
I wonder what would happen if Nana brought Mamiko out and performed a song with her at the Ishikawa show… it’s probably highly unlikely, though. For some reason, you mentioning the two of them “rabu-rabuing” brought to mind a strange image of the two of them dancing with each other. *_*
And awkwardness was exactly what I was going for with those “ero” comments. ^_^
If you want, I can tone it down a bit.
Finally finished reading all details of 3 reports. Thank you for the reports and I like your additional travel logs
The setlists are great! I like them more than Grace’s one but I wish she will keep Koi no Yokushiryoku and Myusterion (or change it to Unchain World since I also want to see it live version) for Shizuoka live. If Last Scene or Hime Murasaki is also on the list (though unlikely to happen) I’ll be really happy.
It seems many cute&funny things happened during the journey tours. From epic fall to her wanting to grow up by drinking milk. LOL 10 years late XD. And, yeah! for the new single to drill another hole in our wallet.Being Blood-C ed, can I wish for some epic rock ballad?
Seeing Nana on the shinkansen? Those guys are lucky. Maybe I will stalk err…wait at the JR station after concert to see if I have any luck left (my seat is just in the middle of row, so no hope for high-five or seeing her close T-T).
I wonder if she will tease fans at the next station with rabu-rabu story of beloved Mamiko’s hometown XD.
Woo, thanks for the report!
My god, Ishikawa is already this Saturday. If I cried during A5 then I’m sure I’ll be a mess this
Sat too. xD
