Minori’s Birthday vol. 2 report~ <3

As a good m.s.s member, I attended Minorin’s Fanclub Event in Yokohama Blitz 2 days ago (15th). xD Actually this ultimate Minorin fan dragged me to be her (free) guide. But anyway I really enjoyed yesterday.

Since we arrived in the morning of the event, we left our goods shopping to our friends –local fans who had been queueing since dawn. ^^; Thanks, guys!

Purple shirt, wristband, tickets.. and there’s a 2010 calendar (!!!) but photos will have to wait later.

The gate opened at 3pm, allowing 2-hour long admissions because m.s.s is really strict. We needed our ticket, membership card, and a photo ID (I brought my gaijin staff ID lol) to enter, no exceptions. Since my entrance number is not so good, I went in about 4.30pm.

The event started at 5pm sharp. Once again Minorin’s manager, Seno, was the MC of the night.. he repeated the written rules just to make sure nobody gets hurt. To my surprise, there were no pushing, but that’s probably cos I went in late after the war ended. ^^; I stood peacefully at the back of 1F, I could see the screen all the time and upper-half of whoever is on stage, so I’m all good.

Minorin went up stage in a blue chequered one-piece (too far to see legs orz). After a small talk, the first corner starts: おもひでめぐり 特別編 (Omohidemeguri Tokubetsu-hen), a photo collection of what Minorin had accomplished since her last birthday, with lots of talk in-between:
1. Live Parade 2009 (I went to the 1st leg)
2. Lucky Star @ Budoukan
She danced in cheerleader costume (for Motekke?).. wanna see. xD
3. Daicon @ Malaysia + Music Japan Anison SP
Seno mentioned how Malaysian water broke their stomach (and mine too actually lol).
MJ Anison SP was her first TV live, too bad she didn’t participate again in the SP 2 last week.
4. Summer Camp 2-days live
Also showed a pic where the staff did the Lush March!! flag dance in masks.
5. Anisama 2009 + Lantis Matsuri
She mentioned how happy she is to be friends with Hocchan.

.. okay actually I think it’s kinda scary that I went to 3 out of 7 events (+1 this).. and all of them were by coincidence, since they’re close to Nana’s. ^^;

The next corner was titled “富士山のてっぺんでおにぎりを食べる！” (Eat onigiri at the top of Mt. Fuji!) which totally explains what the video was. It was divided into 4 segments, with short talk in between.

1. Journey to Mt. Fuji
- Video started with Seno looking at his watch.. because Minorin is, as usual, late. ^^;
- Minorin finally arrived while apologizing.. dressed in yellow Summercamp shirt, shorts, cap, and backpack! .. I would join whatever girl scout she’s in *runs*
- Minorin took over the camera when Seno’s driving.. so we got either random road to Mt. Fuji, glimpses of Seno driving, and often very close-up look of Minorin’s face.

2. Climbing pt 1
- Starting to climb up @ 10.00 am! Gambatte!
- Minorin sang Paradise Lost live in Mt. Fuji! Can’t really hear it cos the wind was strong.

3. Climbing pt 2
- Already 4 hours since she started climbing.. Seno started to get tired because we literally heard him panting to the camera.. lolol.
- The screen turns black to show text like: “Seno, 31 year-old, no stamina”
- Minorin took over the camera to give Seno some time with his bottled oxygen. He was clearly suffering. Awsm moments xD
- Minorin live at Mt. Fuji again~!

4. Arrival
- Finally on the top of Mt. Fuji! Took them about 6.5 hours to get up, which is pretty fast (I guess that’s why Seno almost died).
- Minorin sat on Summercamp goods (the portable seat thing), took out the lunchbox (purple handkerchief wrap was bought in Malaysia!).. opened the wrap, preparing to eat the onigiri that she made herself (the whole point she climbed Mt. Fuji)..
- ..and one onigiri awesomely rolled down $!@#!#LOLOL.
- Anyway there were 3 more, so she accomplished her mission anyway.
- On their way down, Minorin prayed in the temple. According to her, she was wishing m.s.s members to always smile.. (she probably actually wished for more food).
- Took her about 3 hours to arrive back down.

The next corner was shitsumon corner where Minorin answers questions submitted by fans before. Only 4 questions chosen due to limited time, which looked more like letters/requests to me ^^; It’s probably made up by staff anyway
1. Someone said he/she likes to sing Paradise Lost in karaoke, which coincidentally was her blog topic few days ago. It’s not a lie tho, cos I spent my time in otaku-ish karaoke before the event (yeah I’m crazy), and ParaLost was in the top 20 most-played song. ^^;
2. Someone asked about her softball ability. The staff took out a yellow bat and Minorin showed off her batting ability. Twice. Pretty awsm if you ask me.
3. Forgot.
4. Someone said he/she likes Minami Chiaki a lot and requested a bakayarou live. So she did. And the hall went crazy. I really don’t understand why these people love to be called stupid. xD

After the corner, we get a really good surprise, “Precious One” PV premiere!! As she described the song as a “love song” few weeks ago, I expected a sweet loving story.. but instead it was more like a painful ballad. It was a great song though, and sounds really hard to sing in karaoke lol.

The PV was a typical Minorin PV, with 2 sides of Minorin. One with gray one-piece, and the other with orange dress.. which according to lewdberry both have equally awesome boobs. I .. must agree. xD

The next corner was what everyone was waiting for: キャラソン祭り (Character Song Matsuri), a live section! Just like the previous FC events, we get character songs instead of her own songs. There was short talk in between the songs too.

1. Greed’s Accident (Nagato Yuki - Haruhi Gekidou)
I couldn’t recognise the song at first, cause of its damn loooooong instrumental intro. To be honest I don’t like the song and was expecting Under Mebius instead.. (yes I think the shrieking is addictive).

2. Crescendo (Shirakawa Nanaka - Da Capo)
To comemmorate the photobook release which is also Crescendo. The song is pretty good, and I saw some hardcore Da Capo fans went crazy lol.

3. カレーのうた (Minami Chiaki - Minamike)
I like Curry Song since the first time I heard it in Minamike. It was especially nice because everyone in the hall sang along to the acoustic version.. then “Chiaki” protested for some music, and sang this epic song again.

4. Only Lonely Rain (Takahana Sumire - Venus Versus Virus)
Can’t find a youtube vid. I have a bad memory with the anime (thinking it was yuri but it freaking wasn’t), and I still think the chorus bridge is weird.

5. 桜舞うこの約束の地で (band leader - Manabi Straight!)
Totally unexpected. I LOVE Sakura Mau Kono Yakusoku no Chi de, it beats all her other chara songs (sorry I’m not into aliens). All the while I could only play this in Stepmania, never knew I would live otagei to this.. xD

Oh, in between songs she drank Lantis Matsuri water. I hope that’s not poisonous.

Next up was special guest, a short talk with Saito-P (Minorin’s Lantis producer). Honestly I wasn’t really listening, until Saito-P spoiled that the 2nd song of the new single will be a “upbeat song that’s so Minorin”.. or something. There were announcements too:
1. “Precious One” CD jacket!! Minorin’s close-up shot with the gray one-piece from PV, looking at you with a rather sad face (especially if you only torrent the CD you thieves).. very pretty.
2. New album in February 2010, titled “Sing All Love“. It’s surprising because she only has 2 singles since Parade.. It means many new songs, and hopefully a charason remix? Sakuramau PL0X!

After more random talk with Saito-P, they teased us about replaying Precious One PV.. but in the end we got Precious One first-ever LIVE!! It was much stronger and emotional, I believe some fans cried.

Then the best part of the night: birthday surprise!

The 1st surprise was from staff.. suddenly a video starts playing. Minorin (and about 50% fans inside) got a sudden heart attack.. A BIRTHDAY VIDEO FROM HOCCHAN!!! Wooot! It was pretty long coz she started talking since how they met from animu work, then became real friends since Anisama.. blabla yuri moments. xD

And btw she got Mizuhara Kaoru video in Osaka the day before. Good job, Minori Team!

Then 2nd surprise.. after Hocchan took out a cake (on the video) and the staff brought out real cake (on stage), Seno didn’t need to signal us. We cracked the yellow penlight (we got it when we entered the hall), and everyone sang Happy Birthday together along with Hocchan too. ^_^

Oh btw Minorin only almost cried, tho I think it was 80% thanks to Hocchan’s video.

The last part was presents for fans, Minorin bat out 20 signed balls with the yellow bat! She was a real softball player since she hit the ceiling spotlights for dunno how many times already. As usual I love my life more than a ball so I didn’t bother to fight for it like a bunch of hungry fish.

The event really ended with handshake event, which was a 2-seconds of touching Minorin’s hand and getting pushed by the bouncer-looking staff. Nonetheless I think fans were happy, I actually saw a girl came out crying like wtf.

Overall it was a pretty good event, the videos were entertaining, the fans behaved well, Minorin was f#$king pretty as usual, and a handshake is a handshake.

Let’s see next week how Nana FC event compares with this!
