Missing performances in Animelo 2008 DVD/BD.. orz
When I saw the TBS digest last night (or early morning Aussie time), I noticed two performers (and apparently that’s the least) were missing from Day 2 Digest.. and as what everyone were afraid of, they are NOT LISTED in the official goods update.
What we’re missing are:
Day 1.
Ishida Yoko.
Strike Witches – Watashi ni Dekiru Koto
We still get Ishida’s Eien no Hana, but..
Day 2.
Nakamura Eriko, Imai Asami, Takahashi Chiaki, Shimoda Asami from THE IDOLM@STER.

WTF NAMCO. I support you for kicking TMA’s ass trying to create pr0n out of IM@S, but this is too much..

and I thought I’d be able to check out Chiaking’s real boobs size in bluray..

Not really my thing, and I’m already full of RAEG with the IM@S decision.. but must be a let-down to their fans.
Well, at least there’s still good news: all DVD/BD discs will be released by King Records. Means we’re getting quality!

I find it surprising they could just cut out performances just like that when everyone who’s buying it is going to know full well that they’re missing it… An eye-opener to what the industry’s like for me I suppose.

Ah now that we know Strike Witches is not on it then I know for certain it is a rights issue with Columbia Music, as they own the rights to both Strike Witches and the Imas songs (Columbia publish/distributes both franchise’s music). As usual it’s the music labels being an ass. I would say that Namco has little to do with it so don’t blame them. Sound Horizon does their own rights management AFAIK and my guess is that they are too small and got pushed out from the revenue from the other labels so they thought they might as well not get involved.
Oh well, guess I have less reasons to buy the second day disk then, too much Hirano Aya for my taste.

@issa-sa: Well, they did cut off Hare Hare Yukai from 06 DVD and Dekaranger in 07.. but to leave out this many performances..
@houkoholic: Oh, thanks for enlightening me about Columbia Music. I’ve read somewhere that Namco is not very ‘friendly’ and always tries to get most profit out of everything, especially they know that IM@S has good selling power.. so I thought they weren’t happy with the deal or something. Anyway I’ll fix it up there.
Well, I’m still getting both days. I almost shed tears when UNDER17 reunited, lol, not to mention Kurobara, the GUNDAM duet and JAM Project. I guess skipping few tracks is alright.

Well sadly I don’t think I’ll be buying either of the blu-rays. Like every artist is releasing albums in March, rawrs.
At least Idolmaster already has their streamed video floating around.
