Mizuki Nana and her Oricon #2 curse.

Not again.

It’s hard to circle in raeg and without a mouse. :P

..so, Shin Ai finally joined the “Oricon #2″ group, together with:
- ETERNAL BLAZE
- Secret Ambition
- Great Activity
- Trickster

Haha. And the number is even lower than Trickster debut at 8189.

Well, there is still hope the numbers will go up by the end of this week, since I know some people who are holding back to buy Shin Ai in Budokan, hoping to get some extra bonus. But really, GJ for the boyband fangirls who actually BUY shit.

Will we ever see Nana grab the #1 spot? ^^;

..YES. BANZAAAAII~~~!!! <3<3<3 Though 2nd day, it’s still worthy of celebration.

Trickster’s number is only higher because of the campaign they were running at that time (buy CD to enter draw for the secret live event).

OTOH it’s actually a VERY good sign that the difference is so minimal (less than 1000) - it means that her fans are not dominated by otaku fanboys who buy multiple copies because of hooks like prizes and events nor anime tie-ins, but instead are genuie fans who buys it for her singing work, which means she is actually making it as an individual artist. Some seiyuu, such as Nonaka Ai, has sales that had been known to fluctuate in the thousands just because of events as the otakus clearly were only buying her stuff to get handshakes. And then you have people like Tomatsu Haruka where her Kannagi single outsold her earlier live action Here is Greenword single by a factor of 10 (yes, you read it correct), which clearly points to the tie-in being the draw rather than the artist in question.

Oh well cheer up, second day’s sales are strong (only a drop of 200 index no) and today NANA IS AT NO.1 ON THE ORICON DAILY FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER HAHAHA. Of course it’ll start dropping like a stone pretty soon, but that’s something to celebrate woohoo ^_^

@houkoholic: How did you think TVXQ or Johnny’s make it to #1 every time if not thanks to the fangirls? It’s hard to do a “genuine music fan check” in this kind of business. Except if you look like Wada Akiko and still sells good amount of CD. But yeah, I get your point. Macross CDs won’t sell that good without Macross, too, and in a few years Tomacchan might be in the same position as Nonaka Ai.

@j1m0ne: YESSSSS!!

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!! Power of Nana fanboys/fangirls WIN! MUAHAHA.

NANA MIZUKI HAS BROKEN THE 2ND PLACE SILVER CURSE.

Hey, she’s popular enough to have her song in a DDR mix, so that shows you just how popular she is :D.

Trickster, 174 BPM, approximately an 8 footer.

I’m a huge DDR fan so I’m glad that FINALLY a seiyuu I adore is going to get into my DDRs XD

As much as this makes me happy, let’s see where she ends up on the weekly chart. That’s the one that really matters IMHO.
