Mizuki Nana in Kouhaku 61
Outside NHK Hall for Kouhaku 61!!
It looks soooo out of reach… I feel like the Little Match Girl drooling at a rich family’s warm house… ;__; not exactly wrong since only very lucky 1500 lottery winners (out of 800k applicants..) or very rich people (Kouhaku ticket auctioned for at least 150k yen) were inside.
Oh well, cheering from outside was fun too! xD Of course, those who cheered on TV too..! ^___^ HD torrent is already up so I’m sure everyone had watched this.
I arrived about 5pm and quickly noticed quite a number of Nana fans hanging around.. met up with friends and looking around the area.
I noticed that there were a LOT of very old people who got the lottery.. as opposed to young winners of Music Japan it did look a bit suspicious.. like NHK wanted to control the crowd inside (=shoo away the weirdos)? ^^;
Also, there were a bunch of random people doing a protest walk against NHK. Seems like an annual thing, though I’m not sure what they were protesting about.. maybe the “viewer fee” law? It’s a government regulation that every person in Japan with a TV have to pay this ridiculous fee, including me. So lol at those who think TV in Japan is free. >_>
Anyway who cares. Especially after I saw this!
Kouhaku Ouentai standpops on a small official booth!! Totally forgot to take Terry and Mari tho lol. The “TOUCH” sign on Nana’s right hand is an IC spot for Jap mobile phones to download free video of Nana!! Too bad it’s not transferable but someone re-recorded it. 16 seconds of Nana holding white UtaUki doll promoting Kouhaku. :3 She said:

NHK Fureai Hall front gate! Closed at 6pm to prepare for Kouhaku screening.. so we just queued outside for 1 hour lol pretty damn cold, but nothing compared to goods queue. :3
Kouhaku Screening! NHK Fureai Hall’s screen was cinema-sized!!! It would be easier to watch from middle to back, but we occupied the first row just because. ^^;; Well still awesome view, though my neck hurt a bit lol.
Kouhaku 61 program free paper.. sorry it’s folded. ^^; Nana gets order number 21, versus L’arc~en~ciel and about the end of first half. It’s a great upgrade from last year!
Other appearances were pretty enjoyable. I’ll refrain from talking bad about artists I wasn’t fond of, so here’s my favorite parts:
-AKB48!!! I’m on the verge of falling for them… Beginner is really good, and I’ve been in love with Heavy Rotation since I saw the PV… Ponytail to Shushu was cuuuuute tooo aaaahhh dangeroouuusss.
-Funky Monkey Babys. A friend recommended this before and it was indeed really good.
-Arashi’s leader as Kaibutsu-kun wwwww suits him very well! -Kumiko’s Inori, great song.
-Hirahara Ayaka’s Voyagers sounding like anime song.
-NYC being cuter than most girls.
Aaand of course, Nana’s appearance:
1. Grand opening
All artists appeared on stage. Very quick glimpse of Nana! OMG LOL she walked down the stairs holding hands with 2 enka legends lolol awesome!
2. Alright! Heart Catch Precure! feat AKB48
Kids section totally got the wrong audience lolololol. Actually we agreed to “act normal” since there were lots of normal people in Fureai Hall….
HOW COULD ANYONE ACT NORMAL FFFF–NANA’S TOO CUUUUUTE!! Myodo Gakuen uniform cosplay of Tsubomi complete with twintails… I could just die…
AKB48 did a damn cute job too!! They picked their top girls (Itano Tomomi, Maeda Atsuko, and Oshima Yuko) so they were great too!! :3
3. PHANTOM MINDS
Real thing ｷﾀâ”â”â”â”(ﾟ∀ﾟ)â”â”â”â”ｯ!! Totally forgetting our agreement, front rows were bright of penlights (ノ∀｀)  Well at first everyone were like WTF RED?! since PHANTOM MINDS is supposedly a blue song.. ^^;;
..but well Nana’s on Red Team and it matched her beautiful red dress! Sea of red lights looked very pretty–I really appreciate their participation considering most attendees had no idea how to wave one.. good job!
Nana totally nailed her song, though she just couldn’t stop smiling widely while singing.. still too happy over Kouhaku, eh? ^__^ Anyhow we got totally over-excited too (even if that wasn’t a full song) in Fureai Hall lololol NANA BANZAI–!!
4. Theme song Uta no Chikara
So happy that Nana gets a solo line!! And that she was in front-most too… (was it ordered by heights? lololol). But really, it’s a good sign that Nana’s recognized better than last year!

I had to meet my parents so I left right after Uta no Chikara… not sure if she reappeared again to introduce Sakamoto Fuyumi? Too bad since I really wanted to hear her Mata Kimi ni Koishiteru and Ishikawa’s Amagi Goe and Koda Kumi and probably drool at Kimutaku<3 (if I can mute him *runs*) oh well that’s what recordings are for. :3
Anyhow Kohaku 61 was awesome!! Looking forward to Nana’s 3rd appearance in Kohaku 62!! xD

I noticed that her extended hand was shaking. xD!
And the jumping part in Alright HeartCatch was just adorable. <3 She sang a part in Uta no Chikara, and appeared in a white/black outfit for Sakamoto Fuyumi and Arashi. xD She had 4 – 5 clothings I think. xD

I didn’t get to watch this live since the program I was using to watch it (frickin keyhole tv D<D<D<D<D<D) decided to throw a little temper-tantrum right when kouhaku started and it decided to just stop working for me all together and it was just not a good time….
ANYWAYS
I thought that Nana did a lot better this year than she did last year (not that she did bad last year! I just thought this year was better than before :3). I was actually kinda surprised by how many of the audience were (attempting) to wave the penlights!
But my hands-down favorite performance of the night was Ayu’s “Virgin Road” (totally biased here but Nana’s comes to a close second D’:)
she reappeared as a cheering fans for wada akiko, and some more i couldn’t really remember
@Chikocchi i believe they were handed the penlights beforehand, can’t imagine old folks buying penlights only for nana
lol ayu, during her part, i focused more to her boobs *runs*
I used Keyhole TV and cos of snow storm the whole thing is damn choppy and video feed became “images feed” (Thats how I totally didnt realise Nana is dancing until I saw it on Youtube..)
But thanks to choppy feed, I have lotsa Nana smiling face images looking at me LOL LOL LOL
I only managed to see her singing Uta no Chikara before keyhole completely stopped working… =.=”
SO I MISSED THAT CUTE BLACK AND WHITE CLOTHES…
I think Phantom Minds’ red dress is too large and looked ugly on her =/

Thanks for the report danie. Though you were only out in the hall, it seems like a swell time, supporting for your idol together with hordes of nana fans. I wonder if Nana knows that hundreds of her fans are standing outside the hall rooting for her…
I totally bailed out after L’arc~en~Ciel so I didnt see Nana’s other performances ;A;. But, as much as I love Nana, Angela Aki’s performance wins my vote that night ><.
BTW, Funky Monkey Babys are worth listening too,and if you look closely, during their Kouhaku performance, the dj did nothing but dance behind the two singing
. And Hirahara Ayaka has a godly voice,and like you, I first thought that Voyagers was an anime song too. It actually wasnt =D
I personally thought that Nana looked MORE nervous this year during her solo than last year. Like Yuki mentioned – you can see her hand shaking when she extends it at the end and it seemed like she was rushing a tiny bit at the beginning of the song, singing a bit too fast.
That said, the rest of her appearances were spot-on (lol less anxiety because it’s not solo?), and THAT HAT she wore with the black and white ensemble was ADORABLE.
No comment on the anigao though. I found most of them too creepy to stare at for long periods of time…

^ ahmmmmm….Nana is always prepare *n so as other singers* just that some of them r nervous due that this is a big thing XD for nana reason is her dream to join kouhaku n y 2nd join is more nervous than her 1st because she didnt no that she get in a 2nd time XD
