Mizuki Nana interviewed by Chinese TV Channel
LOL OK first watch the video here.
Nana-chan was interviewed by ICS (International Channel Shanghai?), hence the Chinese sub was provided. I will try to sum up the interview points, but not word-to-word cos it will take forever with my crap-Japanese and zero-Chinese.
The video quality is crap, go watch Music Japan if you want quality clips of Live Diamond lol.

The first 7 seconds was hilarious. She basically just said, “Hi I’m Mizuki Nana”.. but pronounced the whole thing, including her name, in Chinese..
“Mizuki Nana” becomes: “sui shu nai nai”, which literally means: “water tree milk milk” … (btw “nai nai” also means “b00bs” in slang Chinese). She can actually say “na na” like normal, but I guess someone wanted to troll her? xD
…lol ok on to the real thing.

The narrator said her Chinese is good lol. And showing Etsuraku Camelia PV from the “number 1 album” Ultimate Diamond, and some additional info I can’t read.

To show that Nana is a “top seiyuu”, they showed… Hinata from Naruto. orz

Apparently when she was a kid, she liked to copy anime voices and record them in tapes (lol wtf). And since she came from the small prefecture Ehime, she never knew seiyuu schools exist, until she moved to Tokyo. Also, Nana grew up without internet… I would have died lol.

Ooh FEITO-CHAN’s Zanber Form!! They shoulda played Shin Sonic Form instead so we can get Pray lol.

For Nana, both voice-acting and singing are inseparable. She learned how to convey emotions and put the experiences into her singing.. or something.. can’t really remember cos the next clip is..

LIVE DIAMOND!! XD XD The opening number.. Miracle☆Flight~~!! I still remember I got heart attack when she popped out of that giant baseball.

I suspect the interview was done right after Music Japan, because:
1) She was wearing the hawt red costume,
2) She mentioned about receiving fan letters from overseas in Japanese, and that they learned moonspeak from anime orz. After Minorin (and thanks to HIMEKA), now Nana got the weeaboo impression too lol.
..I srsly wonder if it ever occurred to her that some people might learn Japanese for her? ..not that it’s better.. *runs*

Another clip from Live Diamond.. the mighty Eternal Blaze! A sea of 30,000 ultra orange!

…okay so Nana wants to go around China by train (..isn’t that a bit dangerous?). She wants recommendation of beautiful places in China. I recommend Melbou–wait.

Short clip of POWER GATE! See why I like baseball (costume) now?

“YOU ARE WATCHING (blablabla dunno what Chinese show?) IN JAPAN!”
The clip is short, but hey Nana gets international coverage! I’m sure there were lots of foreigners in Live Diamond anyway.. but I’m kinda doubtful she will get a world tour, cos well.. King is a normal Japanese entertainment company. *coughs*

Yes the first 7 seconds was hilarious. But so cute!
D She has quite a number of China fans actually. And I really hope she’ll be able to do a live world tour like she said she wanted to in the video. I’ll fly to China!
BTW, it’s funny that you would mention how she mispronounced her name to “Shui Shu Nai Nai”, where Nai Nai translates to ‘Milk Milk’. Apparently, Chinese fans call themselves 奶粉 (Nai Fen) which actually means ‘milk powder’. The word ‘fen’ means ‘fan’ on its own. So it’s a pun on the similar sounding “(Na)Na-fen”.
LOL @ anonymouse. That’s great. Will remember that next time…
King is kind of conservative, yeah…but with the way things are now, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Nana go overseas in the next couple years. Unless there’s a political or economic shift coming that would discourage that, anyways.
Will watch the video at home x_x
And the Live Diamond Eternal Blaze Ultra Orange scene was easily one of the most memorable moments on my Japan trip. So AWSM *_*
“..I srsly wonder if it ever occurred to her that some people might learn Japanese for her? ..not that it’s better.. ”
spotted… x_x”
btw her eternal blaze red dress is wondahful *v*
and her english accent is… rofl XDDD
First time knowing Chinese has been of ANY use to this…uhm…obsession? Either way, hilarious. Don’t know why she didn’t just bother pronouncing her name normally though, I’m sure the people who care about her at all wouldn’t have minded, and maybe even preferred it. I know I would have.
Gotta wonder how the Chinese audience as a whole would react, since relations haven’t been the best between Chinese and Japanese in the past (not going to discuss it here)…this does show that she (or King Records) might have an interest in her performing internationally though, which is great! I mean, honestly, about time.
Okay, I seriously laughed at that first and last bit XD (Actually, I didn’t even realize she was talking in English in that last bit until I saw the subtitles ^^;;)
Nana world tour would be a dream come true for me… But then again, she’ll probably just go to the Asian countries, so it makes no difference to me at the end of the day T_T But I’ll keep having faith that she’ll make it to Europe some day >,<
P.S. Also another person spotted here who’s learning Japanese just for Nana’s sake :p
I LOL @ most of the comments flying across that vid, especially the large words in green that said “I’m taking (Nana) home” XD
Thanks for the post!
GRANDMA NANAw
very interesting post. Like I always say, because a world tour is next to impossible, I wish I could see her perform live before she stops doing these kind of big events such as live diamond
Psh, I totally picked up Japanese in the hopes that one day I would meet Rie Tanaka.
AND IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT.
Nana influenced me to pick up singing, not Japanese.
STORY OF MY LIFE wwwwwwww
She can do an asian tour like Jam Project, I missed Hironobu Kageyama and Masaaki Endoh concert at Hong kong this year , because I left too early. Then last year I missed the Jam Project’s concert at Hong kong because I lefted too early too. -roll eyes-
Nana would never ever ever ever come to Europe, that’s for sure. Oh wait, she did come to the UK to do a frikkin photoshoot. -bangs head on the wall- I missed Halko’s performance for being in Hong kong at the wrong time. =_=
I think it’s harder for her to do an asian tour because she’s a seiyuu? And still got to be in sessions to do the work? But if Nana goes Hong kong next summer during Ani/manga/game-festival, I would have an heart attack. But then I rather she did a concert, even Shokotan only sang 5 songs during ani-fest. Concerts in Hong kong are cheaper too, and they usually have tiers for the type of seats too instead of being a draw like Japan.
I learnt enough japanese from anime to watch shoujo or moe anime in raw. Maybe I should send a letter to her too, what’s the address anyway? xD
lol @ Bardiche turning into Baldish for the chinese subs.
You know what they say about Singapore being “somewhere in China”?
I never expected there will come a day when I wished that was true. It would be cool to run into Nana onboard a train.
WATER TREE MILK MILK ~ \ (* O * )/
