Musterion Full PV!! …. anyone else scared? T_T

Officially up on Gyao today, but of course we non-existent oversea fans aren’t allowed to watch it. It’s on Nico too but they’d take it down soon so here.

[media=24]

I had a bad feeling the second I saw the dirty sink and window fans… ^^;

To sum the PV in one sentence: A gaijin and a Jap got arrested for drawing in walls, get thrown into some crazy prison shit while one-eyed Hitler Nana sings with Lady Gaga’s police line and some video camera fetish.

In short, the best thing about this PV is, well, Nana’s shorts.

Now now let’s pray 7月7日 PV will cure us all with some Nana x Mika lovey-dovey scenes….. xD

  4. Jabawock Jabawock says:

From last part of TV show “MAGNET” which aired on 13/06/10, I think 7月7日’s PV is just Nana x Mika x Strings band sing/play in recording studio.

  5. reinforce reinforce says:

    cool things in the PV
    -graffiti
    -eyepatch
    -police line
    -star-shaped MIC
    -many video cams
-and of course Nana’s army uniform hohoho..=p
by the way, do all of you aware that the 「ミュステリオン〠typing is really hard to see because it’s colored red and the font size’s really thin?..==”

  11. Sebastian Sebastian says:

Ok this was totally unexpected. I’ve re-read my previous comment when you posted the preview itself to compare my opinion back then with my current one after seeing the whole thing.

The Nazism thing is, luckily, much less evident than the preview made me think it would be.The NM logo is vastly different from the Swastika, so that was a relief. Sorta.

Nana’s look is pretty good, even better than her previous military outfit during lives. Of course, those shorts do wonders.

The PV itself…well…it’s so so. Then again, artists are inconsistent in this department (I liked Astrogation, Shin Ai or Zankou no Gaia, hated Mugen, Power Gate and this one i.e.) so I really don’t care.

My main issue is with the song. On the preview, I thought it would be another kickass Nana rock song, not as good as Trickster or Etsuraku Camellia, but at least better than the mild Bring it On. It wasn’t the case. The song sucks. Even if it’s short, it seems long because of how little melody it features, not mentioning the fact that it repeats the chorus a lot. Maybe I’ll like it more when I see it performed (at least I know I won’t like it even less), but right now I’m far from impressed. I did like how unpredictable it was at first, but then it became annoying. What were your thoughts on this, Danie?

  12. Makino Makino says:

When I first heard this song I was blown away by the start of it but when it got to the chorus I didn’t like it at all. It took a few repeats for me to get used to it. I think my first initial dislike of the song is because I was going in thinking it would be one of her normal rock songs but that was not the case. This song is more hard rock, borderline metal which I was not expecting from Nana, but is a genre of music I mildly enjoy. So when I went back to the mindset of listening this more like a metal song than a standard Nana song we would normally expect, I actually quite enjoyed it. Of course hard rock/metal isnt a genre that is enjoyed in the masses so I can understand all the negativity its been getting. However, this is far from a bad song. Its just not what most Nanatards are used to.

  13. Socratics101 Socratics101 says:

Wow, for once I’m not the only one who wrote a wall of text. :P

But anyways, having never really been a fan of this song from the beginning, I must say I’m not surprised at how…mediocre this music video is. It seems a bit too hectic, too much action going on. The sets and costumes and everything are obviously high budget, but that doesn’t save it in my opinion, as the frequency of camera changing makes me think the cameraman has ADD.

The song itself also isn’t anything special – the parts where Nana doesn’t sound like she’s raping her own voice by shrieking are listenable, but the rest is…well, just an annoying cacophony that doesn’t do anything other than annoy my ears. The one thing I can say is good though is that stare. It pierces through my soul. <3

I just don’t feel her image is suited for this kind of music yet, and her voice is wasted – when you can hear how much discomfort she’s feeling at singing this way in the song, it’s a sign she either doesn’t like it herself or just is not used to doing it. And I for one, hope she never does.

  14. FirztMF FirztMF says:

I got lazy to read all the comments so I’ll say only this:

*The PV it’s so NOT Nana’s regular stuff.
*The PV it’s really appropriate for the song.
*For some reason it reminded me of Rammstein’s Mein Teil. lol

  15. I want to start off by saying thank you for putting the PV on here. So thank you n_n

I actually kinda like this song (prepares to get shot). Well, everything but the chorus. The chorus is just a disaster waiting to happen, and the disaster finally strikes at the key change towards the end. The chorus is just a mess.

The PV fits very well with the song, so I’m going to say that the PV is good, since it fits with the song.

Maybe this song will start to sit better with me after hearing it a million times or hearing it live. I just pray to God that she doesn’t perform this at Anisama x_x

I actually like this PV quite a bit – the Nazi thing is much more minor than I’d expected, and Nana is, well, hot – but the SONG. O_O Oh my god, the song. She’s clearlys straining her voice, which lends nothing to it, and the chorus completely fails to draw the listener in. The whole thing sounds forced, the same feeling I had about Bring It On, which is a shame since Nana CAN do the rock thing as long as the song is good. Oh, and the key change reminded me of Eurovision, LOL.

  18. kidichi kidichi says:

scary then I like it.. all in PV.. except Sink..
and Nana’s short is the best one and the unifrom

  19. Namirin Namirin says:

^ Eurovision? Haha, sure a lot of Eurovision songs have key change. Well I love it ^^

    Now the PV…

    T-this is so scary…. T_T

I let out first short “gya!” scream when that sudden hand appeared.
As for the song. It’s cool but well… not suitable for Nana. Messed up and feels rushed (especially chorus). However I like more than Bring it on (the song I dislike the most).

Anyway having BIG hopes for 7月7日PV and song. Studio PV is good too. During instrumental they may have scenes where they just have some fun in the studio (Miho Fukuhara’s Mirai PV is a good example).

One of the 10 best Nana PVs so far, nothing to feel scared about, just fantastic without end. And nothing to do with fascism so far. G8! No problem for me as long as she is just taking the aesthetic and not what the meaning was. And did you know? The aesthetics of fascism were stolen from communism which were stolen from christ and transformed to art and music to THINK! I love this song and video as much as the elder ones, believe me.

  23. Glamypunk Glamypunk says:

Double post, excuse my bad behaviour, but now, on day 2 i know this one, i am feeling also scared about the video, it is ridicolous, don’t like it anymore and if it is only for this thing on her eye :D who had the idea to make such a silly clip? Thumbs down.

  24. amelala amelala says:

^ ehhhh…..my is the other way round i was scare at 1st *because of that dum hand…-_-”* then i got use to it…theres nothing to scare all because of that hand..-_-” *whose idea to do that…-_-” feel like killing that person who make me jump out of my chair!*

  29. anytypeofway anytypeofway says:

Though this song, to me, is definitely not as good as Etsuraku Camellia, Trickster, Protection or Bring It On when it comes to being fast-paced, energetic, exhilarating, captivating, fascinating, stimulating, motivating hard-rock, it, IMHO, certainly isn’t all that bad, either. Songs like this are quite difficult for any singer, songwriter, or artist to do, and I have to say that, given its level of difficulty, Nana, though she sounded at some points like she was struggling to keep up, did a fairly decent job. She is capable of so much more, though, which is sad and unfortunate when you think about it.

The music video is very weird and quite bizarre, to say the least, but we must all keep in mind that Nana is 30 years old… 30 is the age at which most female performers tend to become slightly more experimental with their concepts. They tend to play around with what they think will keep them sexy in the minds of their viewing audience and the listeners. That said, she still turns me on like you couldn’t imagine or believe. I just hope that she doesn’t go too far with and try to become the new Japanese Madonna or something like that (though I think that, with her looks, she is certainly capable of doing so).

It must be said, though, that the vid reminds me slightly of that which was shot for Public Enemy’s “Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos” with its prison setting and all. The song itself also gives off quite a militant feel… I’m still sitting here scratching my head and wondering why Nana didn’t get Chuck D to kick a verse on this track, no less any other PE member (then again, Flavor Flav and Nana would go together about as well as oil and water, and Professor Griff’s style is probably WAY too Afrocentric for a song like this)… the song would probably suck a bit less had Chuck been enlisted to spit a jewel.
