My Last Minute Votes for the 3rd Seiyuu Award

This year’s Seiyuu Award was a joke, at one point I wanted to buy the DVD and send it as j1m0ne’s birthday present just for the lulz. :P

But I decided to vote again anyway. Maybe because I have nothing to do on the supposedly best weekend of 2008, unlike some very lucky people. (Oops, one of them is on the same boat as me! LOL you~ XD)

So these picks are purely my opinions. And just to make it easy for me, I pick people I like disregarding the hush hush negotiations between agencies and Kadokawa. (Yet, this evil award will hurt my pure, innocent soul again).

Best Male: Nakamura Yuichi (中æ‘悠一)
He leads so many anime this year that I couldn’t avoid him even if I want to. Nah, I really liked Tomoya, Alto-hime, even Ikuto and Kugen though they didn’t appear that much.

Best Female: Koshimizu Ami (å°æ¸…水亜美)
Because as good as Endou Aya / Sheryl was, I think Koshimizu Ami was more enchanting as Horo. Considered Yukana for the same furry reason (and extra pizza girl) but nah.

Best Supporting Male: Mizushima Takahiro (水島大宙)
A bit harder to choose since I avoid anime with many men (mecha/BL) like a plague. I don’t really know which male seiyuu is particularly good this year. I decided to give my vote for Mizushima Takahiro anyway, he was good to the point I seriously wanted to strangle Rolo.

Best Supporting Female: Sawashiro Miyuki (沢城ã¿ã‚†ã)
Simply because Miyukichi made awesome sidekicks, lol. Tsugumi (Kannagi), Perrine (Strike Witches), and rawr Shibasaki (Toshokan Sensou).

Best Rookie Male: Maeno Tomoaki (å‰é‡Žæ™ºæ˜)
..because I can’t think of anyone else, heh. I liked Doujo, too bad he didn’t get many roles since. 2008 is not the year for new male seiyuu (it never was), but two of them have to win anyway.

Best Rookie Female: Tomatsu Haruka (戸æ¾é¥)
She’s like the 2008 version of Inoue Marina, with all the leading roles she got (and I happen to watch all anime that has her voice on it). And if Hirano Aya won two years ago for her forehead, Tomacchan has better offer with her legs! .. I don’t know what I’m talking about. Just an excuse to boast about her legs.

Best Personality: Tamura Yukari (ç”°æ‘ゆã‹ã‚Š)
Three seiyuu awards, three votes for Kuro Usagi. I will not stop voting for this brilliant show until it finally pwns the award (= never?).

Best Singer: Chihara Minori (茅原実里)
Because Paradise Lost is a great song that actually fits the anime. It’s a fact that Mizuki Nana sings better, but my vote is sound. ;) LOL It amuses the heck out of me that if Minorin can SING in her lower pitch, why can’t she speak like that too? I mean, if she could pull off a Yomi I’d be ridiculously all over her now. Too bad all she can do is Kagura’s squeal.

.. I realize some of my picks won’t even make it into the panel’s nominee list. But who cares, I had fun. :P Anyway vote here if you haven’t already. It ends next Thursday (January 1st 2009).
